About me
My greatest interest right now is China, Hong Kong. It changed my whole life. I discovered Sammo Hung in the summer of 2005 in Martial Law and got mad about Kung fu films. Through Sammo I found Ricky Hui and HK comedies and Cantonese songs. Just in a few months' time my whole view changed and my world turned upside down. I realized I am more attracted to Chinese culture and people than I was to anything before.

My two favourites are Sammo Hung and Ricky Hui. I'll be grateful to Sammo forever for opening up my eyes to see the beauty of his culture, his people. And for finding Ricky. Without Sammo I wouldn't know him. Sammo is like a Sifu, a great leader, a fantastic fighter, and comedian. The sheer power and beauty of his movements always amaze me. There is noone who is more powerful onscreen fighter than him. His martial arts knowledge has no equal.

Ricky is another story. I love his sense of humour, he is a born comedian. But what got me in the first place is his personality. His vulnerability, his kindness and warmheartedness just shines through the characters he portrays. His voice enchants me,it has the saddest tone I ever heard. I had favourite singers before, but none of them had such an effect on me.

favorite musicRegarding Chinese artists my favourites are
Ricky and Sam Hui
, I love Jackie Chan's songs very much as well. On the western side my alltime favourites are Elvis and the Pet Shop Boys. In classical I love Beethoven, although I was told I should listen to Mozart because Beethoven is too gloomy. Nonsense. Just listen to his early pieces such as "Rage over a Lost Penny" or his Dances.

Recently I discovered Richard Hyung-ki Joo
, a fantastic pianist and composer. He and his friend, Aleksey Igudesman created a show called "A Little Nightmare Music", where they mix classical music with humour, this way making it more enjoyable for even those who are not interested in this genre.
