Mr.
Coconut returns from Hainan Province to Hong Kong for visiting his
family. He is lost in modern Hong Kong and that results in a whole
bunch of jokes. Beneath the negative portrayal of Mainlanders, the film
actually criticizes more Hong Kong people's materialism in an era when
speculation in financial markets was hotter than ever. A very
entertaining film. Ricky plays a cheeky salesman, Lime. Very brief but really funny role, handled wonderfully. |
